News and eventsSIMPSONS' OPEN GOLF DAY SCORES HANDSOMELY with NORFOLK MOTORISTSSimpsons Motor Group's Open Golf Day was recently held at Caldecott Hall Golf Club near Great Yarmouth. Over 100 competitors from Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth, Caistor, Norwich, Norfolk, and even a number of retired players from Spain enjoyed a superb day's golf thanks to Caldecott Hall's Vice-Captain, Peter Aldred and the Simpsons Skoda and Motor Caravan Centre's support staff. 
Proud 2011 Open Golf Champions, Titch and Theresa Leighton. Stableford scoring saw husband and wife pairing, Titch and Theresa Leighton,take the third annual Open title with a handsome 51 points. Managing Director, Andrew Aldis, thanked Peter and Caldecott Hall's green-keeping and catering staff for their superb hospitality and for summoning up excellent weather for the players on the day. "We've found Simpsons Motor Group's Open Golf Tournament attracts scores of loyal Skoda and motor caravan owners to Caldecott Hall each year. It's turned into a 'must go' social event and gives everyone a chance to view the latest new Skoda models and motorhomes we take there to display. Motorhomes are now proving to be an extremely popular investment with golfing enthusiasts wanting to travel, and stay and play golf courses around England, Scotland, Ireland and Europe." SIMPSONS SPONSOR GOSSY'S 'BACK TO BAYERN' CYCLE RIDEWe’re helping one of Norwich City Football club’s soccer legends – Jeremy Goss – raise £000's for the Norfolk and Norwich Association for the Blind by sponsoring his cycle ride back to Bayern Munich Football Club, scene of Gossy’s wonder goal in the 1993 UEFA Cup, when Norwich ran out 2-1 winners against the mighty Bayern Munich, three-times European Champions. Go on Gossy – go raise the roof, like you did when you scored that wonder goal which was struck on the volley to put you in Canary folklore history.

He's made it! Jeremy finished his 1,300 mile sponsored cycle ride on Saturday 13th August, when he arrived at the San Siro stadium in Milan, Italy, very hot as temperatures reached 34celcius. "I'm so grateful to Simpsons for their invaluable motorhome support vehicle, my back-up crew and, most importantly, the host of people who have sponsored my epic cycle ride and fundraising project which has taken me across five European countries, "he enthused. SIZZLING SUCCESS of SIMPSONS' 50th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION PARTYThe burgers and bangers sizzled on the barbecue as customers queued to enjoy our hospitality and 50th birthday celebrations in Suffolk Road,Great Yarmouth on Saturday 25th June. 
A sizzling barbecue was kept very busy serving food to customers throughout the day. Inside the Skoda Showroom motorists seized the opportunity to take advantage of some sizzling 50th Anniversary discount deals on new Skoda Fabias,Octavias,Roomsters,Superbs and Yetis: the Sales Team were kept extremely busy throughout the day as motorists took advantage of many mega-discount deals. 
Motorists marvelled at the massive discount deals in the Skoda showroom. Motor caravan enthusiasts swarmed over the forecourt displays of new and pre-owned coachbuilt and van-based models from reputable converters like AutTrail,Auto-Sleepers,Swift,Roller Team,Elddis,Hobby and Excel.Here too the special 50th Anniversary discount deals saw visitors take advantage of some exceptional one day offers.

Magical in more ways than one…..Andrew. A certain roving magician caught many people's eye and had audiences and Beach Fm radio station's Roadshow staff transfixed with his magic and illusions. 
Family entertainment meant everyone had a great day out. What with the Bucking Bronco,Bouncy Castle,barbecue,live radio link from Beach FM's roadshow and live music from Leon,entertainment never stopped all day.

A great day was had out by hundreds of happy Simpsons' customers,and the Directors of Simpsons Motor Group want to thank all of our staff,exhibitors and entertainers for delivering such a wonderful celebratory day,which Simon Wood-Greaves, the founding MD, would have been proud to have shared with everyone,had he not been tragically taken from us just a few years before this auspicious 50th anniversary celebration of the company's inception in 1961.
